I started working within the Private Client Department at Jackamans in March 2022. I studied at the University of Leicester and obtained a first class law degree in 2021. Since then I have been working towards qualifying as a solicitor and I am currently at the tail end of my Legal Practice Course and Masters in Private Client Law with the University of Law in Moorgate. I am fortunate enough to have been offered a Training Contract with Jackamans which I shall be commencing in July 2023.

I decided that I wanted to be a solicitor when I was studying Law during my A-Levels. I saw first-hand just how difficult the legal system can be to navigate largely due to legal jargon and sometimes quite complex legal principles. I am therefore very passionate about explaining the relevant law to clients in a way that is easy to understand and is accessible to all.

During my free time I enjoy travelling around the UK attending various music festivals and concerts and to unwind I like to help my grandparents with their gardening.

Terry joined the firm in October 2015, working at our Diss office, specialising in residential conveyancing.  He has been a solicitor since 1996 and was a legal executive before that.  Terry worked for Mid Suffolk District Council after leaving school in 1977 and it was at the council, he began his legal career.  His main role in the legal team was to sell council houses.  Terry then decided to progress his legal career, by working in private practice in 1989 and since then, he has developed many years of experience, principally specialising in residential conveyancing, although along the way, Terry has been an advocate in the criminal courts and has worked in Wills and Probate.  However, Terry now specialises in most aspects of residential conveyancing, whether it be sales and purchases, mortgages or transfers arising from probate, matrimonial matters or even gifts.

Terry is a “local lad”, as he grew up in Dickleburgh and attended the former Diss Secondary Modern School for Boys and after a working life of more than 40 years, he says working in Diss is like “coming back home”.  Terry often bumps into familiar faces whether they be family or friends and enjoys being reunited with people he knows very well but hadn’t seen for years.  Indeed, quite a few of them have become his clients.
