Level Two Youth Project, Felixstowe
Level Two’s Mission statement is
“To promote the welfare of young people (age 7-25) living in Felixstowe and surrounding villages, through supportive relationships and positive experiences, designed to enhance their personal and social development.”
The Felixstowe Youth Development Group was established in 1993 by a number of concerned parents and residents who recognized the need for better facilities and support for young people in Felixstowe. Now well established above Tesco at 54 Cobbold Road, Level Two offers a wide range of vital facilities and services for young people. Services include counselling, open access sessions for Year 6 students and older at the youth hub, separate sessions – Boyzone and Girlzone at set times, every Wednesday drop-in session at Felixstowe Academy, outreach work and holiday activities.
Level Two 1-1 Mentoring
Mentoring offers young people the opportunity to have 1-1 time with a youth worker in which they can share worries, concerns, or look at any issues they are facing. It is very much focused on the young person and can be a fun, exciting journey; perhaps enjoying activities such as cooking, playing pool, art work, games, walking, sports, or simply having a chat. Young people can self-refer or be referred by a parent, teacher or other agency. Mentoring sessions are usually once a week, for 8-12 weeks.
