The Grass Court season at the club recently came to an end with the closing American Tournament on Sunday 24th September. It’s been a very successful year for the club, with five main tournaments taking place as well as lots of less formal play by members. The year’s main event was the Jackamans’ 93rd Junior Week. Junior week is an LTA-run grade 3 tournament. Its aim is to provide juniors of all ages (under 7s to under 18s) with the opportunity to play under tournament conditions. An astonishing 385 matches took place over the week, and there was a record number of 26 players in the under 7s Mini Red event which was held at Brackenbury Sports centre – a good sign for the future of the sport.  Also, this year a doubles’ event for those under 11 was trialled and proved very successful.

With the grass courts now closed, play has moved to the nine hard courts and the recently resurfaced Astro courts. The club offers a full coaching program with something for everyone, from junior tennis on a Saturday morning to the elite training on a Wednesday evening. Full details can be found here

The club is also running a new member discount programme. For full details regarding membership for adults, juniors or families visit the club website

The club holds fun social events too, open to members of the public as well as members, and so far in the pipeline are a wine tasting evening on 26th October, a quiz night on November 11th and a Christmas disco.  This year the club began holding regular music nights on Thursdays. The evenings were incredibly popular and will return in 2024.

FLTC club house is available for private hire.  It is an attractive building in a picturesque location overlooking the courts, with a hall area and upstairs bar. If you are interested in knowing more on this – or any other aspects of the club – please email
